Lately...

Well hello! It's obviously been a busy month since I last posted and I am back at work in full swing. This outfit will tell you that I was off yesterday and this weekend since I'm not in Michael clothes. This was a fun outfit I enjoyed wearing yesterday to do some fall shopping for my two babies;) I paired a TJ Maxx find top with LC Lauren Conrad lace shorts from Kohls with a J Crew Factory belt and random accessories. Hopefully I can start posting more but being back at work and the two babies it's been difficult! Until next time, whenever that may be.

Back to Work...

So the last two days have been a little hectic with going back to work and getting the girls back in daycare and the routine of things so I figured I post my last two days looks since I had a moment before getting ready today. Both looks are complete Michael Kors head to toe.

The first is this button down top with chains woven through grommets on the collar. Love this because the chains serve as your jewelry so no need for a necklace with this top. I'm low on my wardrobe on pants to pair with it so I had to opt for some denim skinnies which are my favorite, MK denim is pretty good quality but sizes definitely run bigger and they stretch a lot. Got my MK sandals and Hamilton tote to complete the look. And some subtle gold jewelry. Michael loves to stack jewelry with watches but usually sticks with golds silver and rose gold and not a whole lot of color. Especially with the classic navy color which I swear is his idea of black.

The next look is a printed bar top paired with the same denim lol. But some cute MK platform wedge espadrilles in luggage. This top isn't my favorite because the bar doesn't lay and wear very well and he makes these for us like for the past four seasons but at least it's a different color and print. The colors for pre fall are a green that he calls "gooseberry" which is so cute I think. With navy, dark purples (iris), greys, gunmetals and dark turquoise. We actually get the August collection any day now so I'm excited to see what I can style with those looks. Have a great week!

PS I needed lipstick on in that last pic. Lol💄💄💄💋 oops.

White Sunday

Hello! Today's outfit was white on white for church this morning. I actually put this Michael Kors tee that actually is very loose fitting and kind of hi-low but I tucked it into this Banana Republic skirt and added an old belt from J Crew Factory for a look of white on white. I love wearing all white with gold jewelry, I'm thinking long necklaces and stacks of bangles. So I wore this Stella and Dot necklace and Bardot bracelet with a couple handmade bracelets by DB Jewelry (Etsy). It was a hot day and my original outfit got the boot because I felt like wearing this for more comfort and a more airy laid back yet put together look. My other outfit I had planned on was a little stiff. So tomorrow I go back to work so I may be posting my first work look. Until then! Happy Sunday!

Pink of course!

Hello! So... Today I wore pink with a nude striped top to play down the neon shorts from J Crew Factory. I'm also really enjoying the tassel bracelet from Cathryn Ann Designs. Paired it with my Stella and Dot wrap bracelet. Today was pretty hectic getting my girls paperwork and supplies to the daycare, this is my last weekend off for awhile so I'll be spending tomorrow cleaning and hoping my new Michael Kors Jet Set tote gets delivered to my house. If it does I'll post it. Have a great night!

Cobalt Stripes & Colors

Hi! Today's look features this awesome J Crew inspired Sassy Steals necklace. I love the bright colors on this and love it with the JCrew striped popover. I got the top on clearance so that was a plus! Today I had to go try on and buy clothes for work which I start back on Monday so I am trying to wear and enjoy as much color as possible because its pre fall at Michael Kors right now so I'll be posting some pretty darker colors such as navy, green, and then some cream mixed in. But I'm excited to get back to work and talk about some of my work outfits as I wear them. It's exciting because we get a new collection every month so some things will be worn on repeat but I'll always have new to look forward to each month. Have a great day!

A Closet Remix...

Hi! So today's look is all about mixing old and new. I have really gotten better about actually wearing and pairing different outfits more than a couple times which I think is good obviously because it helps me not shop for clothes as much so leaves more room for accessory buying which lets face it, it's all about the jewels! So I'm wearing this old paisley Banana Republic bubble tank with some old J CRew Factory denim matchsticks and a new J Crew Factory mint cardigan (classic old style but new cardigan) and a new white bubble necklace from Amazon. I know the bubble necklaces are played out but I still love them especially big ones in white or cream colors which are the two that I own. I just think they're so fun and they really add a lot to an outfit. I know they are a trend but I think they're gonna trend a little longer than expected, at least for me anyway;). I've really enjoyed digging in my closet lately and styling older pieces of clothing that I thought I wouldn't wear again. Style is all about what you make it whether it be an old pair of jeans and a t shirt, add a new trending accessory and your outfit looks and feels brand new! I still have some items in my closet I haven't worn yet so I think it's fun to dig in and re create looks with older pieces to give them a little more time to shine before the new ones do. Have a great hump day!

Neon Pink...

Hello! Today's outfit highlights neon pink inspired by these J Crew Mari sandals that were $45 on sale from like $180+! These have been all over IG and for good reason, it's a great novelty color at an amazing sale price! I had to call and snag some up fast. I paired it with this J Crew striped tribal embroidered top that also was on sale and also has pops of neon pinks and oranges which I thought looked great with the shoes. Needless to say I was probably the best dressed in Walmart this morning grocery shopping, I got a lot of looks! Lol

Also want to highlight these awesome bracelets from Cathyrn Ann Designs. The tassel is my fav as the chain link one pairs lovely with it I think. Altogether I felt great in this look and it was definitely a first for me wearing pink shoes! Hard to believe but I've always been a more conservative neutral style but fashion to me is sometimes stepping out of the box which I've really enjoyed doing this summer. Have a lovely Sunday!

Target Haul

Sooo...today I went to Target. Enough said. But really I had to take back the infamous seahorse dress because it sat in my closet for like a month with the tag on it and when I brought it out to wear today it just didn't fit right up top so I had to face the fact that this trend wasn't gonna work for me. I was kinda tired of it anyway from seeing it all over instagram with the seahorse shirt

. Soooo I got $22 on a gift card and had $10 gift card from when we purchased baby supplies so I got this plus some necessities not pictured...
Cute and comfy wedges on clearance for $15 that I actually wanted awhile back when I saw on a co worker but totally forgot to look for them and just stumbled upon them today. The rest is somewhat useful stuff from the dollar section which is my obsession! Everyone loves buying things they don't really need for a dollar right!? Well these things were too cute to pass up. In the top right that stripey bag is a sunglasses case and has a cute ikat print on the inside;) totally can use that. Cute greeting cards which I honestly don't know when I'll use but maybe I'll start sending. Cute toiletry pouches that I can use to keep secret items in or maybe nail stuff. A coozie...ummm when did target start selling cute coozies!? Target does it again! And the ikat print nail file holder with file inside. So it was a pretty fun little shopping trip today;) I also bought my girls cute outfits and seriously don't know why I shop anywhere else for their clothes because targets baby and toddler clothes are too cute!!! So until next time, and I'll try to stay out of target for awhile.

OOTD

Yeah...my title stinks, couldn't think of anything special. Here is tonight's outfit that I threw on quickly when my husband came home and asked if I wanted to go out for dinner. I threw on this Loft striped top that I got at outlet for $9.99! A steal. With some older Banana Republic shorts and a J Crew Factory necklace. Of course I threw on my casual Tory Burch espadrilles and my orange floral Tory that I adore that my husband bought me when we had out second baby two months ago. Today I got my order from J Crew and I'm so excited to style the tops I bought! I I'm a little obsessed with J Crew lately but who isn't? So until next time, have a great night!

No Outfit Day...

So today is a no outfit day and swimsuit is my attire for this beautiful afternoon. My two baby girls are napping so its the perfect opportunity for me to catch up on some rays since I've been losing my tan the last couple weeks. I am laying out in my back yard which is why I'm wearing this Victoria's Secret swimsuit from last year. Not ready to wear a two piece in public yet since I'm 2 months postpartum so it's a good time to get some tan on my belly in the privacy of my back yard. This is probably my favorite VS swimsuit I've owned I just think the colors are great (white and light neon pink) and the ruffles and stripes are the perfect touch of class and cuteness. The only problem is I ordered the top in a size too small for somehow but I wear it anyway because it still fits its just a little tight. I love this straw hat too I found at TJ Maxx a year ago by Calvin Klein it's got a cute ombré colored look with hints of gold sparkle in person. I love this Hawaiin Tropic shimmer effect sunscreen it gives my legs and arms the perfect amount of shimmer of gold which I love. Also obsessed with the sunnies I found on Amazon for $9! That was a big hit on my IG account, I think everyone bought them after I posted that find. Last but not least is my beloved monogrammed towel that my friend got for me as a bridesmaid gift. It's a beautiful day to be in the sun and I'm loving every second!

Turquoise & Pink

Turquoise and pink are the highlights of today's outfit. I never would have thought to pair these together because my usual style is very neutral and black and white; but since being inspired by the many colorful looks on my Instagram community I've stepped out of the box a lot lately.
My hubby bought me this necklace on our cruise to The Bahamas and I've honestly worn it once at dinner on the cruise until today. I really should wear it more. I paired it with this neon pink too from J Crew Factory and white shorts from Banana Republic. Have a nice day!

Sage K & Co Hair Ties

Nice little mail day today;) I haven't been doing a whole lot of shopping the last couple weeks so I'm excited about the little things like these cute hair ties. I ordered these off Etsy from Sage K and Co. for a mere $4-$6 a pack! These are some of the cutest ones I've seen so I thought it was a good deal. I mainly like to wear neutral colored hair ties but these had a good mix of neutrals and color for when I want to mix it up. I wear my hair up a lot especially since its grown longer due to my prenatal vitamins. And because I'm a mom of two under two these are a cute way to throw up my hair everyday. Not to mention its so hot where I live so I only style my hair down 2-3 times a week. I was glad to see these arrive so quickly from when I ordered them since I'm down to one hair tie, they always seem to disappear! I will probably order more when these get lost too;) Have a nice night!

Stella and Dot Revival Tassel

Hello! So I figured I'd go ahead and give it a go today with a style post. This Stella and Dot tassel necklace has been in my jewelry collection for a couple years now with very minimal wear along with several other S&D pieces. A couple years ago after I had my first baby I was going a little stir crazy at home so I launched my business with S&D. It was good while it lasted; a few short months of trunk shows with family and friends. Then I hit a road block, got lazy and said well hey I got some great jewelry out of this experience. So needless to say I haven't really styled my necklaces much at all because where I work at Michael Kors the jewelry dress code is very simple. They want all attention on the clothing, even our nail polish must be of nude and natural colors, yikes! So I have been enjoying my time off of work for maternity leave with my second baby girl and breaking out old jewels that are really like new to me (and painting my nails fun colors!). Today I wore the tassel necklace with a linen J Crew dress I also got a couple years ago (ready to get my pay check so I can shop again!) and after church with a comfy laid back look of a forever 21 cotton top and J Crew striped maxi skirt. I think it worked great dressed up and dressed down which is why u love S&D and originally started selling it because the pieces are so versatile you can literally wear an awesome statement necklace with a t shirt and your look has gone from blah to fab in a second. Another reason I like the jewelry is the quality, you get a lot more wears out of S&D than you would cheap fashion jewelry but hey I even buy and love the cheap stuff! But it's always good to invest in some key pieces that are of better quality. Spend the big bucks on classic, timeless jewelry like pearls or gold hoops for example and the trendy stuff in my opinion is best spent less on since in a season or two it will be out. I love seeing the same necklace paired with different outfits and this is one look (or two!) that I will visit again. <Pictures are not the best quality as they are taken with IG with applied filters.>

Thanks for reading!

Here we go...

Hi, my name is Rachel Sawyer and I'm obviously new at this. I've blogged before on tumblr about being a mother but this is different. I love fashion but more than that I love shopping for it and I'm convinced I was blessed with an eye for it but not the money. I don't have a ton of money to buy the things I would really love to wear not to mention I live in Alabama near the beach. (Gulf Shores,AL) and that's just not practical for down here so I guess this style blog will mainly be about my personal wardrobe and styling for the climate and area I live in! This is nothing fancy but more or less my photos from instagram with a story;) follow me there at whatrachelwore ! Have a nice day!
